Calida's Expansion Strategy:
From Underwear to Swim- / Beachwear, now Women's Wear
The Calida AG , Sursee / Switzerland
is presenting themselves as a successful example for a felicitous
diversification; they are one of the internationally leading companies
of luxury lingerie and high-quality day- and night wear and is represented
in about 70 countries. The enterprise, founded in 1941 by Max Kellenberger
and Hans Joachim Palmers, has now expanded their product offer and
provides starting August also women's wear. The small premium-knitting
collection consists of diverse sweaters, a variation of cardigans
and different basic-shirts.

E-commerce set for rapid growth |
E-commerce, dubbed as the "new engine" of growth, is helping China sustain its foreign trade at a time when the nation's exports and imports have been decelerating for months, said Vice-minister of Commerce Jiang Yaoping. During a press conference on China's E-commerce Report 2008-2009, he said China's e-commerce industry will grow "at a high speed" in the coming years and the nation is soon expected to overtake Japan as the world's third-largest nation in terms of value of e-commerce transactions, given that e-commerce is gaining recognition nationwide. Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles |
Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles will take place from 24 – 26 August at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. As an important home textiles trading platform in Asia, the show attracts more than 1,000 suppliers from 24 countries and regions. To accommodate the increased number of exhibitors and the new product zones, the show has expanded to ten halls. "The exhibitor response has been tremendous. I hope the newly-established product zones will bring more business opportunities to both suppliers and buyers," said Ms Wendy Wen, Director of Trade Fairs for Messe Frankfurt in Hong Kong.
